When you walk in, Southland may be a bit different than what you are used to.
We are a very casual church, most of our congregation shows up in jeans. We have loud rockin’ worship music and people are going to be singing out and having a great time. Of course, each week there is a highly practical and relevant Biblical message. Because our belief is that if what we are talking about doesn’t apply on Monday morning in your real life, we aren’t doing our job as your church.
Though our service starts at 10:00 AM, people start arriving around 9:00 AM to help with set-up, hang out and meet new people or to come together in the worship center to pray for God to move during our morning service. Afterwards, people continue to hang out or go out to eat.
The service itself is an experience of passionate worship, relevant and practical teaching from the Bible, and personal reflection time. If you have kids, we have a BOOMING Southland kids ministry where we have our Baby City and Tot City nurseries staffed with wonderful people who will take care of your children through the age of 5 and our Kid City Children’s Ministry that will help your child k-5 learn and experience the foundational aspects of God’s love.
Church is what happens the other six days of the week. In other words, going to church once a week just isn’t enough. Being a follower of Christ is not a one-hour service once a week. Whether it’s a bible study, going out to serve our community, or just grabbing some food with other people, THE church is a network of people who DO life together. So, during the week we have all kinds of City Groups that meet. If we don’t have a City Group that has what you’re looking for, we want to help YOU start one that does!
