Reflections on Mother’s Day You gotta love Mother’s Day: the kitchen counters dripping with pancake batter from Dad’s attempt to lead the kids in making breakfast for Mom, special spring outfits donned by the kids for church, only to be covered in glue and paint following the Mother’s Day craft in Sunday school, and...

Forgiveness. What to Its because of this that we rarely come face to face with this whole forgiveness thing. Perhaps you’re even considering surfing to another webpage right now… It practicing this virtue. It seems that we prefer ”an eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth.” genius however, to figure out this system hasn’t helped anyone. I wonder if we would be more apt to expressing forgiveness if someone took the initiative and forgave us of a wrong we committed them? I would like to assume that once a person receives such a gift, that they would be far more likely to express that gift to another person. As Christians, it’s important to remember we HAVE been forgiven already. We have been forgiven for so much more than we could ever remember or realize thanks to our Savior, Jesus. As we experience the forgiveness He provides, the only natural response is to forgive others as well. We must not only experience forgiveness, but express it. If you and I want to live under forgiveness, we need to live out forgiveness…which is easier said than done. Many of us don’t even understand what it means to forgive. There are so many misconceptions of what forgiveness is. So as we begin to discuss this, here are some things that forgiveness is not. Forgiveness is NOT… 1. Diminishing an offense 2. Enabling an offender 3. Denying a wrong doing 4. Forgetting 5. Ceasing to feel pain 6. Waiting for an apology 8. A one-time event 8. Trusting 9. Reconciliation (For further explanation, check out the podcast!) Forgiveness will never change your past, but it will have a huge...

Series: Strange People – Patience Pastor Justin Vagle It doesn’t take much to realize that people can be impatient. And when I say ‘people’ I don’t necessarily mean your neighbor, or the car in traffic that cut you off. No, when I say ‘people’ I’m talking about you and I. We’ve got patience problems. It’s...
